International Workers’ Day, or Labour Day, is also called May Day and is celebrated on May 1 each year across the world. The importance of this day is to raise the rights of workers. India celebrated its Labour Day on May 1, 1923, in Chennai. This day is celebrated as a national holiday in the country.
